Took another pass after many designer friends mentioned the swimmer got lost. Coach Marie likes this font, so I’ve narrowed it down to these.
I had to opportunity to present a logo to my children’s school when it was renamed to be “Hidden Valley”
It was a great design challenge and I forgot how much I love logo design and how much work it can be. ?????½It didn’t make the cut, but I was really happy at where it ended up. I took photos of indigenous Red Tailed hawks and did about 20 drawings to arrive at a shape and pose that felt appropriate. ? I ended up really enjoying inkscape, as I’d do some occasional tweaks to it at lunch while at work (animators don’t get illustrator) and found I now prefer it to illustrator as it’s light, fast and can edit with the speed I used work pre-Illustrator 6, before it turned into the juggernaught of all vector creation tools.
An interesting collaboration between Jamie Beck and Kevin Burg, which they dub Cinemagraphs, essentially looping animated gifs where often just part of an image moves. Really, it’s the principle of a strong pose with a moving hold, but done in an artful yet low tech way.
